THE TOWN OF INTERLACHEN PURSUING CDBG GRANT

The Town of Interlachen, Florida is considering applying to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for a FFY 2021-2022 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).  If not funded under the initial 2021-22 combined cycle, this notice and public hearing will be used for a subsequent 2022 cycle. The City is eligible to apply for up to Six Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($650,000.00) in the neighborhood revitalization, commercial revitalization, and housing rehabilitation categories and up to one million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000.00) in the economic development category.  Construction activities funded through the CDBG program must meet one of the following National Objectives:

  1. To benefit low and moderate income persons;
  2. To aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; or
  3. To meet other community development needs of recent origin having a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community and where other financial resources are not available to meet such needs.

THE TOWN OF INTERLACHEN FAIR HOUSING NOTICE

The Town of Interlachen is a fair housing advocate.  The Town is holding a workshop to explain the Fair Housing Ordinance for all of the protected classes (race, color, familial status, handicap, national origin, religion and sex).  The public is invited to attend. If not funded under the initial 2021-22 combined cycle, this notice and workshop will be used for a subsequent 2022 cycle.
